40+ Years of Producing
World-Class Pilots.
And We're Just Getting Started in India.
Our Story
In 1981, a small team of aviators with big dreams started something at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. They called it Orange County Flight Center.
The idea was simple: train pilots the right way. With real aircraft, at a real commercial airport, with instructors who’d been where their students wanted to go.
Four decades later, that idea is still running — and now it’s landed in India.
OCFC and related flight training institutions have trained hundreds of pilots across the full spectrum of aviation licensing: Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot, CFI through CFII, instrument-rated and multi-engine qualified.
Our students have gone on to fly for regional carriers, corporate operators, major airlines, and international fleets.
Now, through OCFC GAA, we’re bringing that same standard — the OCFC standard — to Indian students who are ready for it.
The OCFC Advantage
The Airport
Most flight schools operate from small, uncontrolled airports. OCFC trains at John Wayne Airport (SNA) — a fully operational commercial airport in Orange County, California. Class C airspace. Airline traffic. Real ATC. The kind of environment that produces pilots who are genuinely ready for commercial operations.
“If you can train at SNA, you can fly anywhere.”
The Certifications
OCFC holds FAA Part 141 approval — the structured, airline-pathway standard that not all US flight schools meet. Our curriculum is simultaneously aligned to DGCA (India) and EASA (Europe) standards. Whatever aviation authority governs your career, OCFC has you covered.
The Instructors
Every CFI at OCFC brings real-world aviation experience. Not just hours — decisions. The kind of aeronautical judgment that gets built in complex, high-traffic airspace environments. Our instructors teach you to think like professional pilots because they are professional pilots.

The India Connection
OCFC GAA brings the theoretical foundation of this program to Indian soil — 6 months of DGCA + FAA + EASA aligned Ground School, in India, before you fly internationally. It’s the most cost-effective and academically rigorous way to start your pilot career.
FAA → DGCA
Already Have An FAA License?
Convert It To DGCA.
OCFC facilitates the conversion of FAA pilot certificates to DGCA licenses for pilots who trained in the USA and want to fly commercially in India. This is one of OCFC GAA’s core services and a significant advantage for Indian pilots who trained abroad.
The conversion process involves DGCA written examinations, skills tests, and documentation requirements. OCFC GAA guides you through every step.
FAQ's
Is OCFC the same school as in the USA?
Yes. OCFC GAA is the Indian arm of Orange County Flight Center, the same institution that has operated at John Wayne Airport, California since 1981. The Ground School curriculum is OCFC’s globally developed program, taught by certified faculty in India.
Do I have to go to the USA for flight training?
No. OCFC GAA’s Ground School is a self-contained program. After completion, you may choose OCFC USA, an affiliated institution, or any flight school globally.
Is OCFC USA open to Indian students?
Yes. OCFC accepts Indian students for flight training at John Wayne Airport. Training at a commercial airport provides industry experience that is highly regarded internationally.
What is FAA Part 141?
Part 141 is an FAA-approved structured flight training program with defined syllabi and reduced minimum hour requirements compared to Part 61. OCFC holds Part 141 approval — the same framework that aligns most closely with DGCA’s structured approach in India.
