Multi-Engine

Rating

Two or More Engines. More Power. More Doors Open.

The Multi-Engine Land rating is an add-on to your existing PPL, CPL, or ATP certificate. There are no minimum flight hour requirements — but you will need instructor endorsements for both ground and flight training, and you’ll face an oral exam and a practical checkride.

What does the Multi-Engine Rating
give you?

Access to faster, higher-performance aircraft with greatly improved range and redundancy. Twin-engine aircraft are the standard in corporate aviation, regional airlines, and charter operations. The Multi-Engine rating is what puts you in those cockpits.

OCFC’s multi-engine program covers both VFR and IFR operations in multi-engine aircraft. The recommended time to pursue it is after your CPL and Instrument Rating — pairing all three saves significant money and maximises their combined value.
