FAA to DGCA License
Conversion & Vice Versa

Indian pilots who completed their flight training under the FAA framework in the USA often return home to build their airline careers in India. The DGCA does not automatically recognise FAA licenses — a formal conversion process is required.

OCFC GAA specialises in guiding pilots through this process from start to finish.

01
Step 01
Document Verification
FAA certificates, logbooks, flight hours, and medical records are reviewed against DGCA requirements.
02
Step 02
DGCA Written Examinations
Depending on your FAA certifications, you may be required to pass DGCA written exams in Navigation, Meteorology, Air Regulations, Technical General, Technical Specific, and/or RTR.
03
Step 03
Skills Test / Checkride
DGCA conducts a skills assessment in an Indian-registered aircraft to verify practical competency.
04
Step 04
License Issuance
Upon successful completion, DGCA issues the equivalent Indian license — PPL, CPL, or ATPL.
Why OCFC for License Conversion?
We know exactly what DGCA examiners test.
OCFC GAA's Ground School faculty includes instructors deeply familiar with both FAA and DGCA frameworks. We know exactly what DGCA examiners test, what the gap areas are for FAA-trained pilots, and how to close them efficiently.
Our conversion candidates don't re-learn everything from scratch. They learn what's different — specifically, efficiently, and with full exam support.
You have arrived at the first step to get your license converted.
