The Foundation Every
Pilot Career Is Built On
Ground School at OCFC GAA
OCFC GAA’s Ground School is a 6-month, full-curriculum pilot preparation program designed to get you ready for DGCA, FAA, and EASA written examinations. It is taught by certified faculty and follows a curriculum that mirrors OCFC’s globally respected GAA (Ground + Aviation Academics) program.
You also get simulator time and aviation communication training — so by the time you step into an actual aircraft, you’re not starting from zero. You’re continuing.
The Five Pillars of Pilot Proficiency
01
Air Navigation
- Learn to navigate using dead reckoning, VOR, GPS, ILS, radar, and GNSS
- Covers general navigation, flight planning, aircraft instruments, and radio navigation
- The subject that tells you exactly where you are — at all times
02
Aviation Meteorology
- Understand pressure systems, cloud formations, jet streams, turbulence, icing, and thunderstorms
- Learn to read every aviation weather code that exists
- Make the right call before the weather makes it for you
03
Air Regulations
- Master Indian aviation law, ICAO standards, and airspace classification
- Covers VFR/IFR rules, emergency procedures, and transponder operations
- Know how to operate legally and safely in any airspace in the world
04
Technical General
- Understand your aircraft from piston engines to gas turbines, landing gear to hydraulics
- Covers fuel systems, avionics, and full aircraft systems
- Know what’s happening in the machine — not just how to operate the controls
05
Technical Specific
- Aircraft-specific systems: engine specs, airspeed limitations, instrument panels
- Covers fuel systems, ECU, pitot-static, and stall warning systems
- Learn the exact aircraft you’ll fly — before you fly it
06
Bonus: RTR (Radio Telephony Restricted)
- Master ATC phraseology, distress procedures, HF communications, and aerodrome operations
- Covers approach control, area control, and runway/taxiway markings
- OCFC GAA through DGCA approved flight training affiliates is authorized to conduct SPL and FRTOL(R) exams with live audio/video feed to DGCA examiners
